My choice

   My artifact is a smartphone case. The color is yellow overall. It is a design that is attached like a sticker. This product is a brand called “casetify” and a collaboration case with Disney. This case is Princess “Belle” of Beauty and the Beast. The case is roughly the size of an electric remote control. Hardness is as hard as the middle of hard and soft, making it durable. I bought it in 2021.

    When I was looking at Instagram, a princess smartphone case appeared in the advertisement. Yellow and Princess Bell are my youth. I fell in love with the phone case at first sight and I though “I want to buy it!” but it was too expensive. So I asked my mother.

    “What do you think of this smartphone case?”

    My mother says, “It's too expensive and a waste for your money.“

    “But it's so cute. I want it!” I know it's too expensive.

    I ask my older sister, too, “What do you think of this smartphone case?”

    “It's cute but It's too expensive and a waste for your money.” My older sister says.

    “It's cute, Isn't it!? I want it!” I know...! I know It's too expensive! My mother and sister object to me, so I wonder whether to buy it or not. “But I still want it.” 

   However while I was hesitating... oh, my goodness! It was sold out. “I wish I had bought it.” I regretted it. I saved money because I thought it might be sold again. Then it was resold a few months later!

   “Look! It's being resold!” I tell my mother and my older sister excitedly. “Haha! The brand is trying to get me to buy it!”

   “You want that much, don't you?”  My mother says.

   “If you want so much, I think you can buy it.” My older sister says.

   I answer, “Yes! I decide to buy it!” and I complete the order on the spot. I'm so excited. I'm really looking forward to that arrival.

   A few days later, a smartphone case arrived. I opened it right away. “The best! I'm glad I bought it!” I thought. After all, I felt that I would not regret doing what I wanted to do.

  Mass disposal of smartphone cases has a bad effect on the environment. As the number of smartphone users increases, many smartphone cases are being manufactured. But on the other hands a large number of smartphone cases are being discarded. Most smartphone cases are made of plastic. Plastic garbage emits carbon dioxide when it is incinerated. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, so it causes global warming. In order not to increase the amount of plastic waste, smartphone cases need to be used carefully and replacement needs to be reduced.Also, instead of producing them recklessly, they should be produced according to demand.

   You should be careful the dependence on smartphones. Recently, more and more people are using "smartphone shoulders" on smartphone cases. It's not only fashionable, but also It's convenient because you can see the screen right away. However, being able to see the screen right away also increases the risk of smartphone addiction. Especially, the dependence of young people on smartphones is increasing year by year. In order not to increase the dependence of people on smartphones, they should made minor ingenuity, such as turning off notifications and checking the time with your watch. And they should be careful to make good use of convenient things.
